The nature of the course:
The content of this course allows learners to study PE in an academic setting, enabling them to critically analyse and evaluate their physical performance and apply their experience of practical activity in developing their understanding of the subject. A level PE will equip learners with both a depth and breadth of knowledge, understanding and skills relating to scientific, socio-cultural and practical aspects of physical education.
Course components:
Unit 1: Physiological factors affecting performance Examination worth 30%.
Unit 2: Psychological factors affecting performance Examination worth 20%.
Unit 3: Socio-cultural issues in physical activity and sport Examination worth 20%
Unit 4: Performance in physical education Non-Examined Assessment worth 30%
