Exam Board - Edexcel A Level

The nature of the course:

This course is for people who love doing Maths! It is academically challenging and runs in parallel with the A level Mathematics course. You will learn about Complex Numbers, Matrices, Series, Proof, Polar Coordinates, Hyperbolic Functions and Differential Equations. The course will require you to understand and work with some abstract concepts as well as apply this understanding to mathematical problems set in a real-world context. You will study Further Statistics and Mechanics as part of this course. Further Mathematics is often chosen as a fourth A level by our most able Mathematicians and Scientists so if you like a challenge then this course is for you! Please note that the AS Further Mathematics course can also be chosen as your ‘academic enrichment’ option.

Paper 1 - Further Pure Mathematics (1 hour 30 minutes)

Paper 2 - Further Pure Mathematics (1 hour 30 minutes)

Paper 3 - Further Mechanics (1 hour 30 minutes)

Paper 4 - Further Statistics (1 hour 30 minutes)
