We are very much looking forward to welcoming our new Year 7 students to the Minster School community in September.  These pages are an important source of information and I would strongly encourage you to "drop in" for updates and the latest information.  We will, of course, also contact you directly with anything you need to know.

 

The links at the bottom of the page will take you to some key information.  For students there is the "Ready for Minster?" page where you will be able to watch videos, virtually meet key people and hear what our current year 7s have to say about the Minster experience.  There are also some activities for students to complete to help them get to know the school a bit better.  The "Information for Parents" page includes registration forms, information about uniform, music opportunities and key contacts.  The range of information on the page will be added to over time.

 

We will do everything we can to make the transition to The Minster School as smooth as we can and are excited to meet everyone as soon as we are able.  With warm wishes to you all and welcome!!

Getting to Know You - Transition Event – Thursday 27th June 2024

We would like to invite your child in to school and allow them to spend some time with other children who will be joining us in September.  They will be taking part in fun games and getting to know new classmates.  This is a practical session, so children are advised to attend in appropriate footwear and bring a water bottle.  The sessions have been devised by our 6^th Form Sports Leaders and may include playground games like splat, duck-duck-goose and activities like the use of a parachute.   We will ensure that each child will have worked with several other members of their new tutor group (Tutors groups and classes will be shared with you both at our full Transition Day).

 

Transition Day and Meet the Tutor Event – Monday 1st July 2024

We would like to invite your child in to school for our Transition Day to start at 9am.  Your child will have the opportunity to have a tour of the school, spend time with their new classmates and have a taster Science and ICT lesson.  The day will finish at 3.00pm in time for the evening “Meet Your Tutor Session” which will start at 4pm.  We would then like to invite you and your child into school and give you an opportunity for us to explain the organisation of the school, for you to meet key staff (including your child’s new tutor) and to answer any questions that you may wish to ask.
