Year 13 Results Day
Today, students from The Minster School are celebrating as they receive their A Level results. For them it is a culmination of years of study, not just the last two years of Sixth Form, but of their whole school experience. Throughout that time students have shown resilience, dedication, strength of character and the importance of hard work and now they look forward to their next stages of employment, education and training.
Head Teacher, Ben Chaloner, said “We are immensely proud of the results achieved by our students. This is a cohort that did not sit traditional GCSE exams due to the pandemic and had the beginning of their post-16 studies disrupted by school closures. Their achievements today are exceptional – on an individual and whole school level. Eleven students have achieved at least 3 A* grades with nearly 50% achieving three A* to B grades. There were many happy faces this morning as students secured places at university, on apprenticeships and in employment. Congratulations to all the staff and students for their endeavours.”
Director of Post-16 Studies, Justin Samuels was delighted with today’s outcomes. “As a cohort I have been really pleased with the optimism, enthusiasm and community spirit demonstrated by this group throughout their time in Sixth Form. They have remained fully engaged with Sixth Form life grasping the opportunities of leadership and enrichment that were on offer. Whilst today is a reflection of their academic achievements, I know that they have flourished as young adults through the experiences that they have had, preparing them for their next steps.”
